Now that the BP oil spill is somehow old news, The St. Petersburg/Clearwater Convention & Visitors Bureau partnered with Pentagram to redesign their new logo which was released earlier this month showing a significant improvement and giving St. Pete and Clearwater a fresh new look. As an ex-Gulf resident, and frequent beach visitor I am glad to see the city partnered with Pentagram for this project in an effort to improve (hiring a good firm often makes things easier), attract new tourists and grow. There are films with the power to inspire us and the ability to expose us to worlds and things we have only read or heard of. The Bang Bang Club certainly seems to fit perfectly in this category as it showcases the life, work and struggles of famous War Photographers Greg Marinovich, Joao Silva, Kevin Carter and Ken Oosterbroek. I have only seen the trailer but can’t wait to watch it, hoping it serves as an accurate and honorable tribute to these amazing Photographers and their legacy.

Odisea is a Spanish and Portuguese documentary channel which recently released a new identity and branding. Not only is the new look a considerable improvement from the previous one, but the few applications I’ve seen are great AND the recently launched promo is simply… exquisite! Admit it. You spend about half your day ‘researching’ Facebook at work. Hey! there’s nothing wrong with that, research is always crucial to any organization ;) We love and live Facebook, but have you ever asked yourself, why? How would you explain your story? Today I want to share a new interactive social media experiment AND book project created by German based agency On Any Given Monday and Photographer Stefan Milev. The project/book aims to find answers by Facebook users through their application page, which later will be included and published as part of an official book available worldwide. But that’s not all, all proceeds will go to two non-profit organizations – Earth Focus and Aloha in Action! Special thanks to Creative Director and buddy Marko Puclin for the help ;)
We all know Fashion Photography could be a bit tricky sometimes. I mean, if the Photographer is missing that special ’something’ or a unique style, their work might be at risk of being considered ‘usual’. You might know by now my love for Design and Photography. And that my camera has somehow become an extension of me, making it easy to find inspiration and find excuses to play and experiment. I recently decided I would start a Photo/Poster mini-project, combining things I love such as Photography, Design and Architecture. I am happy to share that the project has begun and even though it’s only based on Miami architecture, for now, I plan on adding pieces to the collection as I travel.

Some people drive a Prius, some people chose politics, and some people like French Photographer JR use their imagination and creativity to inspire us. JR recently was awarded the 2011 TED Prize for his famous and thought-provoking global ‘28 millimetrés’ project and I gathered a few photos and video for you to enjoy! There’s a video floating around showcasing a ‘device’ able to hack into any screen and play video from any iPhone 4 – Great new for you Vanessa Hudgens! And to prove it, its creator/hacker -I like saying that word- goes to Times Square and demonstrates how easy it is to hack into any of the 7,435 screens. Not sure if that’s the actual number but it sure sounds good. I am still not sure if this is possible or if the video is real or not. I leave it up to you or any techie that might know more about this…

Well it’s been a while since my last post and I apologize for that. But I was victim of tonsils/adenoids surgery :( If you have had this surgery as an adult, you will completely understand where I’m coming from and forgive my absence. And if you are an adult and are planning on having this surgery, I would advise you to really question it as the pain might make you regret it every second of your long and painful recovery period… But enough about me! In this dialogue he describes his feelings about NBC and the situation at hand. His personality exudes positivity and humor and this dialogue describes his character very well.
