You might remember that awesome Perrier+Dita Von Teese site by the geniuses at B-Reel we talked about a while back (here). Well, they have done it again. This time, they partnered with Lowe Brindfors and Unilever to create an interesting and entertaining new site who invites the user to get involved and play, literally surfing the net from site to site, while collecting points, or in this case, bonbons.

In a new video for The Atlantic, Michael Bierut talks about the process of creating a logo for the New World Symphony, the Miami orchestral academy that recently moved into a new campus designed by Frank Gehry. The video accompanies “Project: First Drafts,” a special feature in The Atlantic’s May issue, out next week, in which artists and designers share the inspirations behind their work. In the clip, Bierut traces the development of the NWS identity, designed with Pentagram’s Yve Ludwig, through a series of different ideas before arriving at a mark inspired by the curving forms of Gehry’s architecture, the vision of NWS director Michael Tilson Thomas, the art of conducting, and the science of music itself.
I’ve had the chance of meeting fantastic and creative individuals over time, and it is always refreshing to know that we ‘creatives’ are pretty cool people! And to prove my point, today I want to share with you a brief interview I did with Miami based Director Fro Rojas, whose work ranges from great ad spots for AT&T and Ford, to lovely short films like his newest ‘WITH ME’. Fro shared some great insight and process behind his new project and proved that he is not only talented but a cool classy cat!

Last Friday I had the chance of attending a discreet event hosted by The Wolfsonian + AIGA Miami featuring none other than the amazing Marian Bantjes. As a Designer and Typography lover, I’ve been a huge fan of Marian’s fearless intricate work and have been following her since I first discovered it a few years ago. There’s something magical about the exquisite way her work flows and the way letters and figures interact with each other, making her pieces unique. Marian’s lecture included bits of her background, her inspiration, the process behind her work and of course, her book, ‘I WONDER’ (A must, if you are a designer/typophile). After her inspiring presentation, I had the chance of meeting and chatting with this talented icon about design, her work and amazing book. It was so great to finally meet yet another one of my design heroes (list is getting shorter!) and discover that she is as fun and interesting as her beautiful work.

I recently stumbled across this ‘behind the scenes/how it’s made’ gorgeous video for one of my favorite pieces of furniture ever! -The classic Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman, designed in 1956 by genius designers Charles and Ray Eames. The video, showcasing the amount of detail, labor and love involved in the making of each one of these chairs was released by Germany based VITRA, one of the only two companies officially licensed to produce this beauty.
