Under the clouds

“These images and these sounds were recorded during a travel from “Toulouse” to “Paris”, and from “Paris” to “Martinique”. We see the North and the South of “Martinique”, the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, during the rainy season in July, 2011. This small video was thought before I arrive on the scene. The images were not priority but it’s the sound which guided the shoot and the edition.”

The work of Oliver Cartwright

Being a former Architecture student, I studied and used lines for many years. And I love them! Although most people see them as PointA to PointB objects, many artists see them and use them as instruments to create beautiful, chaotic, artistic or simply crazy pieces. I recently discovered the work of Korea based artist Oliver Cartwright and had the pleasure of cyber-meeting him. When I asked Oliver to describe his technique and work he stated “Using a Bic pen, Photoshop 7 and a scanner I create works that strive for quality and timelessness.” And his lovely linear illustrations are great proof of this! A History Of The Title Sequence

Designed as a possible title sequence for a fictitious documentary, this film shows a history of the title sequence in a nutshell. The sequence includes all the names of title designers who had a revolutionary impact on the history and evolution of the title sequence. This film refers to elements such as the cut and shifted characters of Saul Bass’ Psycho title, the colored circles of Maurice Binder’s design for Dr. No and the contemporary designs of Kyle Cooper and Danny Yount.

Chasing Madoff is a film based on the book ‘No One Would Listen’ by Harry Markopolos, also known as the whistleblower of the now infamous Bernie Madoff scandal that shook the nation back in 2009, and it narrates the numerous twists, secrets, threats and corruption that made this story seem unreal. I had the pleasure of chatting about this film with Associate Producer, Director of Photography and good friend Julian Van Mil. This talented Toronto based motion graphics Artist and Commercial Director is part of the team behind this film and kindly accepted my invitation to talk about his role, work, projects and some interesting facts about the film. Harry Potter Exhibition

Jack Daniels collaborated with Tennessee based letterpess masters Yee-Haw Industries to develop a new campaign focusing on the lovely art of Letterpress + American Heritage and Authenticity. What I love -maybe even more than the posters- is the beautiful video by Arnold Advertising documenting the process behind these prints, including some heavy banjo.
