Wanted Melody

TheeBlog-MelodyWanted It is no secret I love animation films. Specially well done ones! The amount of dedication, time and impressive detail that goes into every animated film, feature or short, is absolutely admirable. I recently received a great and… surprising western short film directed by 3 Supinfocom students, Paul Jaulmes, Boris Croisé, and Guillaume Cunis featuring an interesting cast and brilliant production full of lovely animations, color and music. To put it simple, Wanted Melody is a fun western short film with an unexpected twist!

Man of Steel

TheeBlog-ManOfSteel Continuing this trailer Tuesday, I want to share a just released second trailer for a movie that has been around for many years (and not-so-good versions) and that this time around looks very promising. Actually, forget promising… it looks badass! Man of Steel , Directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Henry Cavill promise to tell the story of Clark Kent, from a very different perspective. A Nolan perspective – yes, he’s the director of the Dark Knight trilogy. I have to say it, the trailers look great but the music… the music definitely gets me pumped!

Watercolor + Architecture

TheeBlog-MajaWronska Well, we all survived Basel :) And even though Art Basel Miami is starting to get a little… repetitive (Yes, I said it!) with neon signs, dripping paint and obscene paintings, you could still find amazing work that would not only hypnotize you but make you think and question everything. While browsing the web this past weekend, I found the stunning work of a Polish artists named Maja Wrońska that did just that for me. Maja’s work combines impressive detailed architectural drawings with beautiful colors and an enviable watercolor technique. Check out some of my favorite pieces and visit her DeviantART portfolio for more…

HBO’s Witness

TheeBlog-Witness Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been fascinated by Photography, and as I’ve grown handsomely older, I’ve studied and learned to respect it even more. And there is one field of Photography that has captured my attention and immense respect throughout the years… Photojournalism. Mostly associated with war or social conflicts, Photojournalism narrates stories and in most cases, exposes the crude reality of a world we sometimes tend to forget or rather not address. Photographers like Greg Marinovich, Ken Oosterbroek, João Silva and my very favorite, James Nachtwey risk their lives on a daily basis by submerging themselves into the most dangerous places on earth to share every detail – and side – of conflicts around the world. HBO’s newest must-see Documentary series called WITNESS features 4 different Photographers and their daily stories as they document social conflicts in locations like Juarez, Rio, Lybia and Sudan.

Art Basel Special: Behind the Scenes – OBEY

TheeBlog-OBEY_ArtBasel It’s been a slow week and I apologize for it. But! to make it up, today I bring a post that a lot of you will enjoy. As we all prepare for Art Basel down here in Miami, I’ve been busy roaming around Miami Beach and Wynwood trying to catch all the amazing artists that are down here and currently working. You see, to be completely honest, I think I enjoy these pre-Basel weeks a lot more than the actual event as I get the chance to walk around and meet most artists as they prepare and finish their masterpieces. And this year, I had the chance and pleasure to meet an artist I’ve been following for many years and whose work I enjoy, support, and that has become an intricate part of Basel Miami. Shepard Fairey, also knows as OBEY by most, has been in Miami for the past couple of days, working on new stunning murals and generating commotion amongst Miami art lovers. I visited him and his awesome crew and took some photos of the process and work behind their lovely murals. Check them!
