Luxury Amazon Floating Hotels

TheeBlog-FloatingHotel One of the many treats of growing up in South America was vast variety of climates, regions and proximity to neighboring countries. To celebrate our middle school graduation, my class and I took a school trip deep into the Amazonas River and the beautiful Ecuadorian rain forest that surrounds it. It was an experience I will never forget – and strongly recommend it!. One of the coolest experiences from that trip was definitely our ‘floating hotel’. These hotels smoothly navigate through rivers, providing breath-taking views of nature and landscapes, and taking you places only boats or natives could get to. I recently found an article and was glad to learn that these hotels still exist, and are now ‘luxuring’ things up. M/V Aria and M/V Aqua are Peru’s first luxury floating hotels and are putting a spin on jungle vacations.

This five-star floating hotel, called Aria, along with its sister ship the Aqua, cruise along the Amazon River in Peru and offer the journey of a lifetime! The ship was custom built by architect Jordi Puig to offer all the luxuries of a standard, non-floating 5-star hotel. Upon boarding the ship, guests are met with extreme comfort and adventure as they experience an unforgettable voyage in one of the world’s most remote destinations.

The ship can accommodate 32 guests in the 16 luxury suites. The cabins are described as, “outside-facing with seating area and large panoramic windows that enable you to get the ‘big picture’ of the rivers and their banks from the comfort of your cabin.” Other areas to relax include the observation deck, the outside lounge, the outdoor Jacuzzi, the air-conditioned indoor bar, and the exercise room. Guests can also take in the panoramic view as they enjoy a fine meal in the dining room or pick up a few souvenir gifts in the boutique shop. – mymodernmet.com
