Recent Work: Poetry Month at The Betsy

TheeBlog-DiegoGuevara-Betsy I’ve always shared my passion and love for anything that challenges or inspires me. Today I want to share a cool new project/collaboration I was recently part of and that will be launching next week. My great friends at The Betsy Hotel are hosting O, Miami as part of the National Poetry Month and invited me to be part of an exhibition called Manuscripts: The Illuminated Broadsides. This exhibition celebrates poetry by featuring 26 poems by local poets, interpreted by 13 Graphic Designers. I was delighted to be part of this project and collaborated with 2 pieces that I wanted to share with you today in case you can’t make it to the exhibition at the Hotel.

I had the pleasure of working with poems by two talented local poets, Richard Blanco and Elizabeth Bishop, and of course, Andrew Reid, curator of this great exhibition. My pieces were inspired by the poems, and of course, incorporated Lettering and Type :)

Big thanks to the great folks at The Betsy for not only inviting me to be part of this but for constantly organizing great events and promoting art in Miami. Andrew Reid for all the help and effort curating it and everyone that will stop by to enjoy the exhibition.
