Peter Saville + Lacoste

Found this video last night and I am sure many of you who like Peter Saville, or fashion topics, will enjoy. Known for his iconic and legendary work across multiple fields, Saville was asked by Lacoste to design their Holiday Collector 80th Anniversary edition polos. The result? Saville designed 160 new ‘crocodile’ logos (80 men/80 women), all different, yet all effective and symbolic. This new anniversary collection will be available this Fall.

Adrift

TheeBlog-Adrift Two years ago, I posted a beautiful time-lapse video that captivated me with its stunning scenes and colors. The name of the video was “The Unseen Sea” (HERE) and it was created by San Francisco based Photographer Simon Christen. Still in love with his city and its iconic clouds and fog, Simon decided to create a homage, or as he calls it, love letter to the fog of the San Francisco Bay Area. ADRIFT is a collection of clips featuring that oh so lovely SF fog (when seen from above, because being trapped by it… stinks!) Check out the video after the jump and visit his website for more beautiful work. Continue reading…;

The Pixel Painter

TheeBlog-PixelPainter
As my birthday inevitably approaches, I find myself thinking about how things have changed not only in my personal life but in my career as well. And then of course, about the future. Perhaps it’s because I am getting old, but if you have been thinking about what you’ll be doing in say, 30 years, you’ll enjoy today’s post. Meet 97-year-old Hal Lasko, better known as ‘The Pixel Painter’. Hal is a Graphic Designer who in the late 90s, was introduced to Microsoft by his family. To say that MS Paint captivated and motivated Hal is an understatement. From that day, he painted using the application, all the time. To celebrate his 98th birthday, his family launched a site and have released a collection of his paintings for sale, all for $98. Watch his beautiful and inspiring story after the jump…

Empty, Dense, Merge

TheeBlog-EmptyDenseMerge We all know that the differences between urban and rural America could be… abysmal (pun intended). But what happens if they are combined? What if, one of the country’s busiest and probably most over-habited cities is combined with one of the largest and most desolated landmarks to compose a new landscape? Well, Zurich based Photographer and Artist Gus Petro decided to find out. After traveling to Manhattan and The Grand Canyon for his series Empty, Dense, Merge, Petro combined photographs of both places to create a fascinating new world, where Manhattan becomes a valley… yup.

World Ink

TheeBlog-WorldInk Back in my teenager days, the formula for a successful music video consisted of an elaborate and over the top combination of jewelry, cars, flowing cash and vixens. Today, thankfully, there’s a wider variety of ‘accepted’ popular genres and artists, that not only allow for some musical variety, but that also open the door for different and creative approaches. The music video and band I want to share today, follow these ‘new rules’ and have produced a beautiful vid featuring good music, lovely illustrations and stop motion. Yes! I had the chance to e-meet and chat to one of the parties involved in this project and asked some questions about the process. Check out the video and the story behind it after the jump!

Game of Thrones. Corporate Edition.

_TheeBlog-GameofThronesCorporate When it comes to TV series, everyone’s got a favorite. And although I am no TV expert, I’ve seen and know very well the huge success and popularity of HBO’s Game of Thrones. (Yes, I have not been able to watch it yet… don’t judge me bro!) To celebrate the third-season premiere of Game of Thrones, the folks at Shutterstock branded each of the show’s Kingdoms as modern day corporations. Man, Madoff would’ve been perfect for this!

Ride the prejudice

It’s been a bit hectic as we’ve been relocating offices to sunny South Beach, but here’s a Friday treat that will inspire and ignite your weekend. If you enjoy motion graphics, animation, good design and colors, you will love this video for Phonat by Amsterdam based Hello, Savants!. Skrillex‚Äôs record label OWSLA asked Hello, Savants! to produce the fourth music video for the London based artist Phonat. This video is a rapid edit of surreal images and graphics, connected with free association and non linear relation. It translates in imagery the same grammar made of samples used in the music.
