Banksy NY Art Sale

TheeBlog-BanksyCentralParkPrints When it comes to Banksy, opinions are pretty divided. There are those who think he’s an overrated artist producing yuppie work, and there are those of us who see beyond the stencils and give him credit for his ability to play with everyone’s mind through different mediums, and for always knowing which buttons to push. I personally love his work – when it’s real and the way it was meant to be, not when it is prostituted at galleries or shows like it was during Miami Art Basel last year. As part of his recent NYC takeover, Bansky released a video this weekend featuring his latest stunt. An art stall in Central Park, selling original, signed work for $60 – Total estimated value of $1.5Million. The result, a total of 8 pieces were sold, totaling $420. Real estimated price of these prints… $330,000. Banksy successfully pulls another mind-trick stunt and hundreds of art collectors are crying in bed…

“Yesterday I set up a stall in the park selling 100% authentic original signed Banksy canvases. For $60 each.” – Banksy
