SOFLES – Limitless

With Basel Miami right around the corner and the impressive amount of talent and pieces going up around Wynwood, everyone is in that wonderful ’street art’ mood. I personally can’t wait until next week to visit and meet old and new friends who will be working on beautiful masterpieces (I will share them all here very soon) and who constantly inspire us all. And to contribute to the excitement, here’s an amazing video featuring Australian artist SOFLES and crew in a lovely time-lapse + graffiti bonanza. Enjoy!

Danny MacAskill’s Imaginate

TheeBlog-DannyMacaskill_imaginate
When we talk about successful companies that truly understand branding, and the culture behind it, Red Bull will always be at the top of the list. You see, the name represents way, way more than just an energy drink. It represents a lifestyle, a culture, a common feeling, all thanks to brilliant campaigns, events, and out of the box thinking. Today I want to share one of Red Bull’s latest collaborations with the amazingly talented street rider, Danny MacAskill. Imaginate – Enter Danny’s Mind features unique life-sized toy obstacles, Danny’s impressive skills, and a look into his mind and dreams. As always, well done Red Bull!

Bipolar Tee + Cotton Bureau

TheeBlog-BipolarTshirt_CottonBureau Last year I launched a t-shirt project and debuted the Bipolar Tee (HERE) As most of you probably already know, the demand for this shirt surpassed any goals or plans (completely sold out!) and received a lot of love globally, as we received orders from all continents – including countries like Japan, South Africa, Brazil, Australia, Germany and many more. Today I want to share some exciting news, specially for those of you who are still after one of these babies. The Bipolar Tee is available again thanks to the awesome folks at Cotton Bureau. There’s only one catch, the shirt needs at least 25 orders in order to go to production (and we only have 12 days left!). So, if you want one, head over to Cotton Bureau and get one – or many – today!

MIA Sessions

Those of you who know me well or that have come to know me through this blog know that I love what I do and that I am always trying to do my part to share inspiration and the beauty of creativity. I am a huge advocate of working on what you love, sharing / collaborating with others, and never settling or getting too comfortable. Unfortunately, when it comes to cultivating creativity or building a strong -and involved- creative community, Miami has fallen a bit short, which is terribly sad considering all the amazing jewels this city has to offer and the amount of amazingly creative people who live here. This is why, a couple of very good and talented friends and I decided to work together to change this scenario, to do our part. Today, I am stoked to introduce you to our new baby, a project we’ve been planning and working on for quite some time and that is finally ready to be shared and to help Miami be the place we all want it to be when it comes to inspiration and creativity. Meet MIA Sessions!

Wes Anderson + PRADA

When it comes to collaborations, big Fashion houses always go the extra mile and commission beautiful projects. Remember Cartier’s Panther, or Louis Vuiton’s Muhammad Ali tribute? Well, PRADA also decided to join the fun and play by releasing a great collaboration with none other than Mr. Wes Anderson. The project? A beautiful Anderson-esque short film! Castello Cavalcanti is the story of a race car driver, featuring Jason Schwartzman circa 1955 Italy. As always, Wes Anderson delivers beautifully as he makes you forget you are watching a ‘product’ film. Well done Prada!

Sam Barclay designs Dyslexia

TheeBlog-SamBarclay_Dyslexia Let’s face it, we are all aware or know at least one person who suffers from dyslexia, and although we somewhat know some facts about the condition, we really don’t have a clear understanding of how it affects people. Yes, there have been methods created to improve and help dyslexic patients, but how can we really understand and think of ways to help if we are not able to see first hand what it’s like to be dyslexic. Sam Barclay, a recent University of Portsmouth Graphic Design graduate came up with the brilliant idea to use Design to demonstrate the hurdles dyslexic patients have to deal with on a daily basis. This book aims to provide the reader with a beautiful, design led experience of what it feels like to struggle with reading and it is currently being funded by generous folks through KickStarter.

Banksy x New York

TheeBlog-Banksy_NYC When we talk about controversial artists like Banksy, a cornucopia of opinions begin to flow. Some love him, some hate him, and there are some who simply don’t care or ‘get it’. I personally love his work and every little aspect, as weird as it might be, that surrounds it. He has the ability to make authorities cringe when they hear his name – ask Bloomberg and Kelly, have his work in every major city in the world, have his art valued at thousands of dollars, and his latest, have an entire city go crazy in a graffiti scavenger hunt just to snap a photo of his work – or steal it. All this while remaining completely anonymous. Banksy’s infamous NYC residency took effect last month and not only did it deliver a great collection of pieces and installations, but also got worldwide attention and sparked a manhunt which only increased his popularity, exposure and “see what I just did” attitude. Check out some photos of his work after the jump…
