Statues in Motion

I’ve always been a strong believer that when it comes to paper, the uses and creative possibilities are endless. From those ever-evolving paper plane models you used to create in school, to intricate classical paper statues that morph. Wait, what? Yup, Ex-book editor turned artist Li Hongbo’s obsession with paper resulted in stunning masterpieces that truly defy logic.

Oscar nominees. Pixarized.

TheeBlog-PixarOscarPosters The 2014 Oscars are scheduled to air in less than a week (March 2) and as always, there will be films we have never heard of – and some films that we love. But when it comes to these year’s films’ posters, illustrator and artist Todd Spence decided to twist things up a bit and give each nominated poster a fun new ‘Pixar look’ by replacing their main heroes with Pixar movies characters. Don’t know about you, but that Wolf of Wall Street one… pure gold!

Disclosure + Mary J. Blige

It’s Friday. So, why not relax, smile, listen to some great music and have a great day. And what better way to kick things off than with a sweet new video by geniuses Disclosure and featuring Mary J. Blige. The song has always been great, but adding Mary J. was definitely the right idea as it gave the track that sweet 80s-90s feel I grew up with. Plus, I love the the cool retro and signature graphics and type used on the video. These chaps always hit the spot. Happy Friday.

Dumb Ways to Valentine

Remember that brilliant animated PSA video by Metro Trains Melbourne called Dumb Ways to Die? (HERE) Well, the little fellas are back, just in time for Valentine’s Day, to remind of a few things like not giving out your heart so easily, or not sleeping with that mysterious european bartender you just met at the bar. Yet.

The Marty McFly

TheeBlog-MartyMcFly_Tshirt So, Valentine’s day is approaching and I am sure there are still a few of you out there looking for that perfect gift. You know, that little something different and unique that you could only find if you do some research – because flowers and chocolates are… a bit dated. So, being that I am a nice guy, and that I tend to spend a couple of hours a week ‘researching the interweb’, I decided this week is all about cool and unique gifts (for both) that you may not find at CVS. Since it is a given that ladies always get the good stuff, we’ll start with the dudes, and what better way to start than with this badass Back to the Future – Marty McFly tshirt! Think about it ladies, your boyfriend will love it (unless he’s not into Back to the Future – in that case, break up with him!) and you can feel like a cool and hot Jennifer Parker. You are welcome!

Winter Olympics. BBC Style.

As we all know, the 2014 Winter Olympic Games began yesterday (US Time) in Sochi, Russia in what promises to be a very controversial and talked-about games due to all the craziness going on. And to keep the Olympic spirit going, today I want to share a lovely BBC ad film featuring stunning views, shots, and superb copywriting. Yes, I’ll be honest, I do like NBC’s Olympic jingle, but this… this is the way it’s done! Happy Friday.
