Title designer Raoul Marks’ extraordinary opener for Semi-Permanent Sydney 2015 visualizes the challenges that any creator faces when trying to do what they do: create. The sequence, which is essentially a short film, wears its influences proudly on its Ortho-Fabric sleeve — from the isolating paintings of artist Jeremy Geddes and the otherworldly imagery of Kubrick and Scott, to the Neo Tokyoite architecture of Katsuhiro Otomo and even Space Race-era issues of LIFE Magazine.
