I had a conversation recently about the growing popularity of ‘old school’ techniques such as letterpress, handwriting and vintage style posters. And for a moment, it became a bit hard to explain why as designers, we love and appreciate the labor, dedication and talent involved in each one of the pieces we see daily on dribbble, behance, etc. Similar to explaining somebody at the mall the beauty and value of couture or vintage fashion. So, I figured showing samples of beautiful work and talent would make things a lot easier. And what better example than the work of Brooklyn based Designer and Illustrator Dan Cassaro. Check out his work after the jump!

TheeBlog Q&A Sessions: Sam Green

It’s Friday! And man do I have a sweet treat for you. You might remember a previous post featuring the exquisite work of the incredibly talented, London based Illustrator Sam Green (HERE) Well, I recently had the pleasure of cyber-meeting Sam and talk about his work and recent projects. Being the big fan I am, I invited him to chat and answer a few questions about his work, inspiration, work process and recent post-earthquake trip to Japan which inspired his latest project, on sale now, benefiting the victims of this natural disaster. I am sure you’re going to enjoy his work and this interview as much as I did, and to sweeten the deal even more, I have a surprise! Sam donated a beautiful signed print to be auctioned, and one of you lucky readers is going to take it home and give it the love it deserves!

Another Day. Another Dropshadow.

If you love posters like I do, here’s one that you might want to get your manicured hands on! The awesome guys at The Design Bureau of Amerika recently launched a new poster illustrating a usual day in the life of a Graphic Designer and it rocks! If you are a Graphic Designer, or know one, you’ll either laugh or cry, but will definitely agree with it. (Although to me, the feedback from Account Management seemed to be more rational than it usually is).

Architecture + Photography + Design

You might know by now my love for Design and Photography. And that my camera has somehow become an extension of me, making it easy to find inspiration and find excuses to play and experiment. I recently decided I would start a Photo/Poster mini-project, combining things I love such as Photography, Design and Architecture. I am happy to share that the project has begun and even though it’s only based on Miami architecture, for now, I plan on adding pieces to the collection as I travel.

Woods of Wisdom

Well it’s been a while since my last post and I apologize for that. But I was victim of tonsils/adenoids surgery :( If you have had this surgery as an adult, you will completely understand where I’m coming from and forgive my absence. And if you are an adult and are planning on having this surgery, I would advise you to really question it as the pain might make you regret it every second of your long and painful recovery period… But enough about me! In order to make up for last week’s absence, I thought you would like this… Woods of Wisdom is a collaborative poster series based on questionable tips and advice with a touch of pretty typography.
