Their impressive work has become a constant source of inspiration and influence for agencies and creatives around the world – and their annual demo reels, in my opinion, are some of the best in the business. So, today I want to share their latest motion reel, full of eye candy and gems like titles for OFFF, MTV, D&AD, Nike, Call of Duty, Gatorade, BBC, and Cannes to name a very few. Enjoy!

RUSH

TheeBlog-Rush Yankees vs Red Sox, Real Madrid vs Barcelona, Lakers vs Celtics or You vs that bitchy coworker that makes your life miserable at work. We all enjoy good ol’ classic rivalries. Not too long ago, I learned about another historic rivalry involving two of the best Formula 1 drivers of all time, James Hunt and Niki Lauda. Their contrasting personalities, intense rivalry and impressive level of competition not only fascinated F1 fans but the entire world. RUSH is a new film by Director Ron Howard featuring the lives and rivalry between these two F1 legends. Based on the trailer, lovely European locations and 70s film vibe, I can’t wait for its release. But for now, here are some photos and behind the scenes video to get your engines running. Get it…

The Avengers. End Credit Sequence.

TheeBlog-TheAvengers Whether you were among the many who stayed until the end of the credits (it surprises me that people still don’t know this by now) or the few that left early, I KNOW you enjoyed the amazing end credit sequence featuring beautiful CG! shots of each hero’s weapon or armor. Well, if you are like me and were wondering who created this beauty, we got answers. Method Studios an award-winning international visual effects group was commissioned to create the main title and main-on-end sequence for The Avengers, and I must say, they killed it! Check out the video and some photos after the jump!

Scrabble Typography

TheeBlog-ScrabbleTypography We’ve all played Scrabble at least once or twice, and although I am not a huge fan of board games (even though I am as ruthless as Trump when it comes to Monopoly) this sweet limited edition Typographic Scrabble, scheduled to be released this summer, could definitely get me in the mood to play. Check out some photos after the jump, and the pre-order link in case you are interested.

Canal Odisea Promo

TheeBlog-CanalOdisea

There has been a few network re-brands lately. Some of them good and some… not so much. But there’s one I recently discovered who has become my new favorite-ish. Odisea is a Spanish and Portuguese documentary channel which recently released a new identity and branding. Not only is the new look a considerable improvement from the previous one, but the few applications I’ve seen are great AND the recently launched promo is simply… exquisite! Check out the video and some behind the scenes photos after the jump.

The Plastic Slipper

TheeBlog-JosephMarconi
I personally love the versatility and beauty of film when a Photographer is involved. They have that extra little something which some people like to call ‘eye’, (I simply call it ‘badass talent’) that has the ability to visually sparkle-up stories. This is the case of Photographer and Director Joseph Marconi. His project ‘The Plastic Slipper’ is a brief story about a woman constructing an empty and plastic relationship. You might have seen/heard that before, but the beauty and stunning quality of this video, is what’s gonna make you go hmmm…

RUNAWAY

TheeBlog-KanyeWestRunaway0
Yeezy has done it again. And yes, I know most of you still think he is a douchebag and can’t care less about his work, but you have to admit the guy is constantly pushing the envelope and delivering interesting material. This time, for his Runaway vide/short film, shot in Prague, he collaborated with Hype Williams, and the so-awesomely hot Victoria’s Secret’s Selita Ebanks!. The film, involving a Phoenix, some beautiful shots, hidden messages and a nice touch of surrealism debuted this month and it is worth checking out… if you have 35 minutes to spare of course…

Fast…Don’t…Liiiie

TheeBlog-FastDontLie9
As more and more big names go viral/social, competition and campaigns will continue to evolve and improve in order to stay relevant and better-up the previous one. We all know the huge success of the Old Spice campaign, how DirecTV almost made it as they also jumped in and produced something funny and memorable (altho they lacked consistency!) or how CONAN turned something bad into a successful online campaign. Adidas’ new campaign ‘Fast Don’t Lie’ featuring Dwight Howard, Derrick Rose and Ken Jeong, most commonly known as Mr. Chow! launched recently and has received positive feedback so far. Check out some videos and be the judge…

Tapetastic by iri5

TheeBlog-ErikaIrisSimmons
Friday again y’all! I love non-traditional media artists and the way they can express themselves and create beautiful art with materials most of us disregard as useless or garbage. Iris Simmons aka iri5 is one of these talented artists whose amazing work, specially with old cassettes, is definitely worth checking. I was greatly surprised this morning when I watched Bruno Mars’ music video for his latest single featuring this style of art+animation. Don’t know yet if iri5 worked on this video , but she has been mentioned as inspiration. Whether you are a fan of the video/song or not, I think I rather watch some interesting work by talented artists than some ‘plump’ video hoes and Escalades ;) Oh! and not to mention that the video features the awesome Nathalie Kelley!!! Thanks Bruno….

Nau

TheeBlog-NAU
Most of us like watching movie trailers and sometimes, we enjoy them more than the actual movie! Something similar happens with reels and motion graphics! The combination of colors, explosions, filters, music… is just magical! Nau is an LA based creative agency responsible for amazing motion work for clients like MTV, Spike and Lexus, and yes, one of my favorite bookmarks. Check out some of their work and visit their site for more, believe you me, it is worth it.

Bloody Omaha

The unexpected rise of award winning Indie and Independent films proved that crazy budgets and production crews are not always necessary (although very helpful) to create quality films. And this golden oldie takes this concept one step further! We all remember that epic ‘Invasion of Normandy’ scene in Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan. But what would you think if I tell you that same scene could be recreated by three ‘actors’, a Z1 camera, a pop up greenscreen, some soldier uniforms and 2 rubber rifles? Crazy I know… but check this out!

Perrier. Dita Von Teese style.

TheeBlog-Perrier-DitaVonTeese
Yes, we all know our planet is 70% water, that water is good for our bodies, etc. But what most of us didn’t know is how sexy water can be! Our friends at Perrier knew this of course, and launched a fantastic site with the help of Dita Von Teese, who apparently likes water, and house guests, very much. The site might be R rated and not suitable for younger crowds (I know that by posting this disclaimer you will click on it now) Check out the site after the jump…

POWER

TheeBlog-KanyeWest_Power
You may hate him or you may love him. You might want to believe the Illuminati theories about his new video, or you might just assume it was influenced and inspired by Renaissance paintings. The point is, whenever Kanye does something he wants you to know or have an opinion about or he’s always successful.
